About the Webinar

Story mapping can be utilized in community and academic settings to display both quantitative and qualitative data while also providing a voice to communities. Story mapping is an online, user-friendly platform that can also be taught to individuals and communities to allow them to tell their own stories. This webinar will introduce learners to the basics of story mapping and provide examples on settings in which this emerging technology can be used to strengthen nutrition education.

About the Presenters

Kristin Riggsbee, Doctoral Candidate, University of Tennessee
Kristin Riggsbee is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Tennessee, studying community nutrition. Her dissertation research was focused on adolescent food environments with a focus on developing story mapping as a new technology to showcase individual’s food environments.

Nathania Knight, South Dakota State University

Jonathon Riggsbee, GIS Analyst, City of Maryville, Tennessee
Jonathon Riggsbee is a Geographic Information Systems Analyst currently working for a municipality in Tennessee. He has partnered with local organizations and university researchers to help provide mapping resources to better understand nutrition services and food access issues in East Tennessee.
